Canister and Upright Vacuums Offer Distinct Choice

Like a great heavyweight fight, the battle for supremacy in the vacuum cleaner world has spurred two distinct camps.  One school of thought supports the upright vacuum, the other leans toward the canister vacuum.  OK, perhaps it’s not nearly that dramatic, but they definitely make for two distinct choices.  And while industry leaders such as Miele, Sebo, and Dyson vacuums offer numerous takes on both styles, there are unique qualities to both that might make them a better fit depending on one’s individual needs and tastes.  For the discerning vacuum cleaner aficionado, Best Vacuum, Inc. is proud to present a tale of the tape.  Which side will you fall on, canister or upright?

In this corner, upright vacuums!  Upright vacuums are large, and as such they require less changing or emptying on your part.  Some people prefer to have their vacuum cleaner in front of them while they vacuum rather than dragging their vacuum behind them.  If this is your preference, chalk up another point for the upright.  Many newer uprights are also being made to be more lightweight and compact, making them not only easy to store but also more effective in getting under furniture and other hard to reach areas.  Other upright vacuums like the Dyson DC 15 Animal include low reach floor tools that are effective in vacuuming under furniture as well.

And in this corner, canister vacuums!  Canister vacuums offer a number of unique options that make them very popular as well.  In general they are lighter and very easy to maneuver.  Allergy sufferers will be interested to know that canister vacuums are the best-rated design in terms of trapping the allergens and particulates associated with allergies.  Canister vacuums also offer the most suction power for carpet, and are very effective for vacuuming under low-sitting furniture and for getting into hard to reach areas.

Which do you prefer, canister or upright vacuums?  The answer is that there is no wrong answer.  Canisters and uprights from great companies such as Miele, Sebo, and Dyson offer great choices in both styles, choices that feature HEPA filtration systems and are certain to keep your carpet and flooring clean and the air in your house free of particulates.  It’s nice to have choices in life, and when the choice of vacuum cleaners is between a canister and an upright it’s the very definition of a win-win situation.
